Ladle

A ladle is a long-handled kitchen utensil with a cup-shaped bowl at the end for dipping or conveying liquids, often soups, from one container to another. 

Lardons

Lardons are small, chunky cubes of bacon that can be bought smoked or unsmoked. They are commonly used to help create a base for soups or stews, to flavour quiches, or as a garnish, fried and scattered in salads. Lardons have a salty flavour and are a key component of the famous dish Coq au Vin.

Layer

To layer is to place sections of ingredients on top of each other. Volumes can be increased through multiple layers.
